"I'm on the ballot to represent YOU! The people who work, live, and raise their families right here in Rock County"
A lifelong resident of Rock County, Sheila grew up in Janesville where she graduated from Craig High School. She initially obtained her nursing license from Blackhawk Tech. She went onto UW Whitewater where she graduated cum laude with a B.A. in social work. Sheila raised her two sons here and is now a proud grandmother of two grandchildren. Sheila worked providing specialized care to many beloved patients allowing them to remain in their homes.

After caring for others, Sheila's role reversed nine years ago when she found herself needing specialized care after losing her leg to Type 1 diabetes. "My life was turned upside down. I was not able to meet the physical demands that nursing required of me any longer. My strong faith and the support of my family and friends carried me through the highs and lows of transitioning from two legs to one. My life has changed now but I don't let it hold me back".
Wisconsin spring elections bring special challenges for those with physical disabilities. "I use a wheelchair now and not all homes are handicapped accessible. I rely more heavily on the help of volunteers to get nomination signatures and meeting voters at their homes. I hope to inspire others to not let their physical challenges stop them from serving their community".
Taxpayers are now paying the price because board members have not managed the county in a fiscally responsible manner. Sheila is concerned about her opponent's voting record that ignores many constituents like herself. Her opponent has voted for the highest level of debt totaling $129 million we are now burdened with. He voted to provide housing for sexually violent criminals in our county at taxpayer expense while putting the public's safety at risk. His lack of oversight of the $14.5 million accounting errors that accumulated for years in the highway fund resulted in a 2025 budget deficit significantly reducing general fund reserves and placing the county's credit rating at risk. He has refused to reduce unnecessary spending and supported spending increases. His violations of open meeting laws have eroded the public's trust. These are just a few of the examples of the many decisions that have not been in the people's best interest. Sheila has committed to bringing back integrity and trust to the county. She will support policies that represent the best interests of her constituents, especially those on fixed incomes and young working families.
Currently, the board is comprised of several retired government employees, including Sheila's opponent, who continue to grow county government at the expense of those who live and work here. Many in our county can no longer afford the high level of property taxes, in addition, to rising utility and inflated cost of living expenses. Sheila will make the tough choices needed to bring the county back to a sustainable financial position.

Sheila will bring fresh new leadership to the County Board with common sense solutions and a focus to strengthen communities and support families and businesses. She will serve the public with compassion and respect.
With a background in nursing and social work, she will bring valuable oversight to county services provided by Rock Haven, Department of Human Services and the Public Health Department.
